Disclosed is a method to enhance the capability of a web browser to allow a portion of a dynamically changing web page to be camped on, and execute a user defined action when that portion of the web page changes. A dynamically changing web page is any web page that updates itself without user interaction. When the web page updates itself it may re-display portions of the web page with the exact same information or it may display new information. The disclosed method would ignore a re-display of the same information while detecting that new information has been displayed in a portion of the web browser window and execute a user defined action.

The disclosed method would allow a user to encircle a portion of a web page, select any displayed entity such as a picture, or the entire web page. The user then selects a portion of the web page the user would enter an action to execute, when a change is detected, or select action from a predefined set of actions. The user may also select what percentage of the selection portion must change in order to execute the action.

As an example a user is currently viewing web page on the local weather and selects the portion of the web page showing the current rain fall map as a thumb nail. The user then sets an action to follow the thumb nail link to down load the full screen rain fall map and bring the web browser windo...
