Internet Note and Notification on Self-Service Intranet Access Devices

Disclosed is a self-service kiosk, terminal and other
devices which are connected to a server or host computer system
through the internet or intranet which can provide a traveler with
emergency and other important information.

When travelers access the kiosk for self-service check-in
to hotels, airlines, car rental agencies, or other public devices,
at any point during the self-service process, the system can provide
the traveler notification of a message or the message itself, by any
sender who has access to the internet or intranet electronic mail
service.  Messages such as, "Call your office", "When you pick up
your rental car, these are the directions to..." can be displayed and
if the kiosk or terminal has the appropriate printer capability,
print out the message, including a map or other graphical
information.

Capability can also be provided for an automatic
acknowledgement or reply to the sending party that the message has
been received via the internet or intranet.
