Abstract

The support has a base unit (10) for rotation about a vertical axis (A). A first arm (11) of narrow rectangular section is hinged at (12) to the base unit, and a second arm (13) of like section is hinged at (14) to the first arm. The pivotal axes of the hinges (12, 14) are parallel and horizontal and each hinge allows pivoting through about 160 degrees. A mounting plate (15) for the display is connected to the free end of the second arm by a ball joint (16). Each hinge includes an internal spring friction device to take the majority of the weight of the display during adjustment, final tightening being done by knobs (17). The support can be folded to lie flat against the rear of the display to provide a small footprint.
