Abstract

Disclosed is a cooling system for Note PC with docking station to reduce air flow resistance. Most conventional cooling system for Note PC has FAN to eliminate dissipated power from electrical component. The other hand, docking station also have own FAN to reduce temperature rising of subsystem such as CD-ROM, DVD drive, FDD and second battery. Our system can eliminate a cooling FAN of docking station by applied air flow opening to same position between Note PC and docking station.

Thermal System for Note PC with Docking Station

Disclosed is a cooling system for Note PC with docking
station to reduce air flow resistance.  Most conventional cooling
system for Note PC has FAN to eliminate dissipated power from
electrical component.  The other hand, docking station also have own
FAN to reduce temperature rising of subsystem such as CD-ROM, DVD
drive, FDD and second battery.  Our system can eliminate a cooling
FAN of docking station by applied air flow opening to same position
between Note PC and docking station.

Note PC has a cooling FAN to reduce temperature rising of
electrical component in the unit.  Our system provide air inlet to
bottom side of the unit near the hottest component.  The cooling FAN
can manage thermal problem of electrical component in the unit.  Our
docking station does not have cooling FAN because of using Note PC
cooling FAN by provided air inlet opening each other as shown in
Figure 1.

Acoustic noise increase when provided cooling FAN to both
of Note PC and docking station.  This system dose not require a FAN
of docking station by air flow management as shown in Figure 2.
