Abstract

This article describes a Rear Pad Method for COG (Chip on Glass) LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) panel. In the case of conventional COG design, we have to put signal line of drivers on the array outside of the chip by the FPC, so we need the wide area for the FPC (Flexible Print Circuit) which is signal lines to the control card. Even If we need to make narrow corner frame module, we still need wide area for FPC. It also causes disadvantage of larger size.

  This article describes a Rear Pad Method for COG (Chip on Glass)
LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) panel.  In the case of conventional COG
design, we have to put signal line of drivers on the array outside of
the chip by the FPC, so we need the wide area for the FPC (Flexible
Print Circuit) which is signal lines to the control card.  Even If we
need to make narrow corner frame module, we still need wide area for
FPC.  It also causes disadvantage of larger size.

   This new disclosed design can change the wide COG module
to narrow COG module.  This new design is putting a chip driver on
the upper of the FPC directly, so we don't need this wide area  on
the array outside of the chip for the FPC.  And it makes the narrow
COG module possible.
