Waiting Time Display System for Outpatients

Disclosed is a displaying system that informs an outpatient
of the waiting status, such as time to be waited, numbers of persons
before his turn of seeing a doctor.

When an outpatient completes the registration for seeing a
doctor, a receipt number is issued.  At that time, waiting status is
informed to the patient such as how long to be waited till seeing a
doctor and how many persons are waiting in front.  A system consists
of a server computer, at least one client terminal and a display or
KIOSK like a terminal.  A server computer holds the waiting queue
status of patients for every department.  A server computer also has
the average waiting time that is mean time based on experience for
past several months.  Waiting time for a patient is calculated by
multiplying number of persons and mean time.

A display or a monitor of KIOSK shows the all receipt
numbers for each department from next waiting patient at the moment
and an average waiting time.  Patients can know how many persons are
in front and how long has to be waited.  Each time one medical
treatment is completed, contents on the display is updated.
