Multi-plug Power Cord Testing Interface

Current power cord testers or standard test equipment capable of testing power cords do not offer simple solutions for testing the large array of power cords which have country specific power plugs attached. Current testers offer a wide range of capabilities, including: - the ability to test multiple cords at a time - multi-country plug adapters (single receptacle capable of interfacing with multiple country specific plugs)

     The above solutions are specific to each vendors test unit and do not interface with another vendors equipment. They can also be time consuming to reconfigure, requiring the an operator to change plug adapters with each country unique power cord being tested. In addition, they are not well suited for testing all conductors in a 4 or 5 conductor power cord without custom work.

     In contrast, the Multi-plug Power Cord Testing Interface offers the following: - a simple solution which can interface with many different off the shelf testers (not vendor specific) by using the testers standard power cord plug-and-machine coupler connectors to attach to the Multi-plug Power Cord Testing Interface - the testing of multiple-country power cords (plugs) without reconfiguration, and potentially all country unique power plugs by simply replacing panels held in place with thumbscrews - the capability to adapt to all 3 conductor (pin) country specific power plugs - the capability to adapt to 4 and 5 conductor (pin) connectors using additional switch hardware mounted and wired directly to the Multi-plug Power Cord Testing Interface

     This capability is not marketed with the basic test equipment that interfaces with the Multi-plug Power Cord Testing Interface.

vendors equipment may require time consuming and complicated reconfiguration. Provide 4 and 5 pin connector test capability using a standard 3 pin tester. Although

vendors do offer the capability of testing multiple conductor power cords, they are vendor specific. This solution can adapt to multiple vendors three (pin) conductor testers.

Provide a potential racked solution for ease of access and consolidation of

equipment.

     Additional advantages include increased production throughput, decreased cost, and interface capability with various power cord testers.
