Abstract

Disclosed is a system for supporting the improvements of user’s diets according to user’s detailed health status, without any workload to users. In this system, when a user pays for what he/she selected in cafeteria, the POS system automatically assesses its nutrition using both pre-registered nutrition information of each dishes and his/her result of a medical. The nutrition assessment is printed on the receipt with the total amount of due, so the user can get his/her own nutrition assessment without any entries and use it to improve his/her diet.

Support system for improving users' diets

Disclosed is a system for supporting the improvements of user's diets according to user's detailed health status, without any workload to users.

1. Merit and premises of this invention

The main merit of this idea is that a user of this system can get the tailored nutrition counseling automatically according to his/her detailed health status. As a premise of the automatic tailored nutrition counseling service, this system must be able to access user's result of a medical by his/her identification card (ID card). Once a user registers to get this support service, the system can get his/her detailed health information (body height, weight, age, blood pressure, amount of physical activity, and a result of blood examination). In addition, the nutrition information must be registered in advance.

2. Functions of this system

As for the functions provided by this diet supporting system, please see Fig.1. (The shaded region in the figure is the function implemented in existing technologies.)

Fig1. Functions of the support system for improvement diet

Two main functions are as described below.

1) Real-time nutrition assessment & tomorrow's recommendation at payment

When a user pays for his/her meal at a cafeteria, the user passes his/her ID card to a cashier. When the cashier swipes the card through the POS, the POS reads and checks the ID. The POS system get user's health information from the health management system, then assesses the nutrition of what are chosen by using the health data. The POS system also chooses tomorrow's recommendation which is most suitable for user's diet. The result of diet assessment and tomorrow's recommendation are printed on a receipt as well as the
