Abstract

To further integrate TesTrak into the standard BHA an intelligent power management is necessary to optimally utilize the power provided by the downhole power source (generator, battery or other). The current power consumption of all downhole modules already exceeds the power capability of our downhole power source. Due to the increasing number of modules in today's BHAs the technologies are described: - switch off other power consuming modules not in use at that moment - verification of power availability under varying environmental conditions - running tools in a variable power save mode adaptive to the BHA power availability
