Method for Deferred Information Presentation

The idea is that when a user is browsing the web and the user is at a particular web page, an advertiser initiates a request to display an advertisement. The ad may be multimedia, text, or audio only. However, the advertisement is not presented at the time of the request. The advertisement is displayed later according to one or more criteria. For example, the ad may be the audio message "Buy Stock". The ad is "queued" when the user is browsing a car site. The ad is not played until the user is browsing either a stock quotes web site. Similarly, the ad might be delayed until the person browsing the web has browsed three more web pages past the initiating car web site. Or the ad may be delayed until the user's desktop GUI (graphical user interface) is relatively free of other activities such as the use of multiple windows. Or the ad may be delayed until a particular time of day. The method consists of: an electronic request to present content (e.g. display an ad in a window on a graphical user interface, GUI) and delaying the request fulfillment, making it contingent on a specified event.
