This disclosure describes a method to download non-volatile memory (NVM) settings from a machine to a portable computer or personal digital assistant (PDA).
Currently NVM and machine software settings must be manually collected or downloaded by physically connecting a remote device to the machine.
By entering a code (may be machine IP address or machine serial number or a special code), the machine would download all or a series of NVM values to a remote device (laptop or digital front end or PDA) by IR technology or other wireless method.
