Abstract

Currently, track-wheels and trackballs and other input means on a handheld device only allow you to selection objects in one dimension. It would be nice to have a means to selection objects in two or more dimensions on a handheld device. The proposed solution utilized the same concept as a trackball on a PC (personal computer). The proposed solution is to implement such a technology on a smaller scale on a handheld device. Furthermore, the solution does not need to be implemented with optical reading; rollers and other mechanical means may be used.
