Abstract

The antenna system provides a bidirectional broadband internet connection and digital TV reception by satellite link. The antenna system is made up of the antenna, positioner in three axis (azimuth, elevation and polarization), LNB, inertial sensor, GPS, Block Up-converter, antenna control unit and remote monitoring and control unit. The antenna is an offset Gregorian with dual-reflector and elliptical aperture in order to reduce the height of the system. The pointing system in three axes uses motors for azimuth and polarization movement, and an actuator for elevation movement. The antenna controller keeps the pointing to the selected satellite independently of the position and direction of the vehicle, to get this objective vertical gyro, encoders and GPS are used. Every unit involved in the antenna movement is monitored and controlled by a industrial PC. A LNB in reception path and Block Up-converter in transmission are integrated in the system as RF equipment for amplifying and frequency conversion of the signals. The L-Band signals are connected to a commercial MODEM in order to adapt the radiofrequency signal to TCP/IP protocol.

Sistema de antena para comunicaciones multimedia de banda ancha vía satélite en banda Ku para uso en vehículos móviles de alta velocidad

El sistema de antena descrito en este documento proporciona una conexión a Internet de banda ancha bidireccional y televisión digital mediante un enlace satélite. El sistema de antena está formado por la antena, posicionador en tres ejes (acimut, elevación y polarización), LNB, sensor inercial, GPS, Block Up-converter, control de antena y unidad de monitorización y control remota. La unidad antena incorpora un alimentador tipo offset, el reflector es del tipo doble gregoriano y tiene una apertura especial elíptica, para reducir la altura total de la unidad. El sistema de apuntamiento es de tres ejes y utiliza motores para el movimiento de la antena en acimut y polarización, y un actuador para el movimiento en elevación. La unidad de control de posicionado de la antena mantiene el apuntamiento de la antena al satélite seleccionado, con independencia de la posición del vehículo móvil, orientación y cabeceo. Para ello se utilizan giróscopos, GPS y encoders. Todos los elementos involucrados en el movimiento de la antena están monitorizados y controlados por un PC industrial. A parte de la antena y posicionador tenemos como elementos de RF para amplificar y convertir en frecuencia las señales un LNB en recepción y un BUC en transmisión. Las señales en Banda-L están conectadas a un MODEM comercial con el fin de proporcionar al usuario una  información que cumpla con el protocolo TCP/IP.
