Abstract

Some laptops/PCs don't come with Bluetooth by default. If you have a Bluetooth enabled mobile device, you should be able to extend this functionality to your computer. This is like serial bypass in reverse. In our invention, when the Bluetooth enabled mobile device I sconnected via USB to your laptop, the mobile device can act as a Bluetooth card for the laptop. The user would need to install a Bluetooth driver onto their laptop, but once installed, it would marshall all the Bluetooth communication calls over the USB cable and out the mobile device radio. The benefit is that, with the right type of mobile device, the user gets a Bluetooth card for free.
