Abstract

The Siemens SK65 handset has a shared database for contact information. This information must be displayed and kept synchronized between the Siemens and the mobile device’s AddressBook applications. Synchronization can involve the addition and deletion of up to 2000 contacts. Keeping the entire (35 fields) information sets in both applications is slow and prone to errors in keeping the information accurate in both repositories. The invention prevents keeping a complete copy of the information in both application repositories by transferring only the information necessary to build sorted lookup tables in the mobile device’s application and referring to the host (Siemens) application repository for the full information set.
