Abstract

There is no Instant messenger (IM) exist in market-place that allows you to send an email to the group members defined in a group based on their status. Though, various instant messengers allow you to send an email to all the group members defined in a group. A new method and system to allow instant messengers to send an email tothe group members, based on their status, that would reduce the time of overall email composition and improve the efficiency of the user, at the same time adding a new feature to the instant messenger. The new method will allows to select the type of members in a group based on the status such as "Active" (i.e. online), "Inactive" (i.e. off-line), "Away", "Do not disturb", and "All", before sending an email. This selective feature brings an additional value to the users. There are no drawbacks to this solution. For this solution there is no document found or no reference exist as of today.

The invention describes a new method and system to allow the instant messenger (IM) users to send an email to Active (i.e. online) , Inactive (i.e. off-line), Away, Do not disturb, and All members of a defined group based on the selection as shown in the flowchart below.

There are various advantage by this invention such as following:
1. Reduce the over all time of composing an email with automatic selection of email-ids based on the status the members defined in the group on the IM.
2. Improve the efficiency of the IM user.
3. Brings value to the user.
4. Adds additional features to the IM to become competitive with other IMs in marketplace.
