This is a software feature envisioned for the Spectris Solaris injector, though it could also be applied to other injector systems. It introduces a reporting mechanism for operational data relating to the injector, to all users to trend and analyze their injector usage.

SPECIFICATION

The new feature would provide reports for syringe and contrast usage. It could also be used in the future to report other data, such as protocols used, procedure length, KVO information, and more. Data would be collected over a fixed period of time (likely 3-6 months, depending on available storage space).
When the user activates this feature, the injector would launch a menu allowing the user to select from available reports. The reports could be viewed in either tabular or graphical format.
Future applications of this feature could involve extracting the data from the injector for storage/trending on a PC, or incorporation into a hospital network database.

This feature could serve as a foundation for all manner of data collection and analysis related to injector usage in clinical environments.

Using the injector to track and trend data is a unique application of existing data-mining and analysis principles. The invention views the injector as a means of gathering operational information. This operational informa...
