ABSTRACT

The intent of this bulletin is to present the requirements placed
on an organization in order to run the Information Management Sys-
tem/Virtual Storage in an extended (quasi-cont
inuous) mode of
operation. Capacity planning, performance planning, operating
procedures, and new/change application impacts are addressed.
The main thrust of the document is to show how to minimize the
scheduled and unscheduled outages of an IMS system.
