The Data Facility Hierarchical Storage Manager (DFHSM) Version 2 is a storage management product that automatically manages DASD space, con- trols data availability, and ensures that backup copies of data are created that are both reliable and timely. DFHSM reduces the Storage Administra- tor's time-consuming task of monitoring and managing DASD storage by using computing system resources.
