Abstract

This paper contains information about synthesis and application of cosmetic formulations. Besides a variety of other ingredients this formulations contain Polymers A, containg 1 to 100 wt.-% of pyrrolidonoethylmethacrylate as one monomer , as a single component or combinations of Polymers A with different other polymers. The formulations have been elaborated for cosmetic application, either treatment of keratinic fibers or treatment of skin as well as beauty care applications like decorative and color cosmetics. Special emphasis is put on hairspray formulations (either aerosol or pump sprays) with reduced contents of volatile organic compounds (low VOC formulations). It turned out that Polymers A allow the preparation of cosmetic formulations with excellent properties, e.g. of low VOC hairsprays providing very good spraying behaviour (fine sprays), no foaming when sprayed on hair, low initial curl droop when sprayed on a curly hairstyle, long lasting hold and high setting to hairstyles, high curl retention when hair curls are exposed to humid climate, but non-tacky films on hair, and the formulations can easily be washed off from hair. Applications in hair care and/or skin care can be performed using either aerosol devices, pump spray devices,liquid lotions, bottles, jars and any further devices as well as all application methods available in cosmetics like spraying, creaming, painting, kneading etc..

Die vorliegende Veröffentlichung beschreibt die Herstellung und Verwendung von Polymeren (im folgenden allgemein mit Polymer A bezeichnet) in kosmetischen Anwendungen. Die vorliegende Veröffentlichung beschreibt also die Herstellung und Verwendung kosmetischer Formulierungen enthaltend wenigstens ein Polymer A, welches das Monomer Pyrrolidonoethylmethacrylat mit der Struktur (I) in Gewichtsteilen von 1-100 wt% enthält.

Als Comonomere kommen alle radikalisch polymerisierbaren Monomere in Frage. Die Polymere können vernetzt oder linear sein, graft, block oder gradienten Struktur aufweisen.

Die Polymere A können als alleinige Komponente oder aber auch neben anderen Inhaltsstoffen in kosmetischen Formulierungen enthalten sein (Beispiele für Formulierungen sind in den nachstehenden Tabellen zu entnehmen).

41,50 g VE-Wasser
86,50 g Ethanol kosm.

Zulauf 1 0,19 g Wako®V 50 45,00 g VE-Wasser
