Abstract

Up to now, subscribers of e.g. network and control systems receive a set of instance changes for a given type and then they have to filter that set for the exact instances they are interested in. Unwanted instances will be abandoned. A novel component, called "Generic Publication/Subscription Manager", helps the matching of type specific publications and instance specific subscriptions. The Generic Publication/Subscription Manager receives the instance specific subscriptions. When the set of changes for a type are published the Generic Publication/Subscription Manager matches the received set of changes with the subscription and if a match is found forwards the change to the corresponding subscriber(s).
