Nowadays table is a very important usage in people's everyday's e-life. But the current scenarios of selecting row/column of a table in many applications are not very convinient.

Select Rows Columns in a Table

First mouse cursors of row-select style and column-select style need to be disclosed.

1. Select row(s) by 'Ctrl' key

When mouse moves into any cell area of the table, as long as 'Ctrl' is pressing down, the mouse cursor will change to row-select style. At this time, clicks mouse left button down, the row is selected. When row(s) is in selecting, keeps 'Ctrl' pressing down, user can select any different row(s) by the same scenario.

When row(s) is in selecting, and keeps 'Ctrl' pressing down, clicks mouse left button down in any selecting row area, the row is deselected.

When row(s) is in selecting, if user moves mouse into another non-selected row area,

with 'Ctrl'+'Shift'

pressing down, the cursor will hold the row-select style. At this time, click mouse left button down in any cell of the non-selected row area, the rows from the first selected row to the final selected row are selected.

When row(s) is in selecting, keeps 'Ctrl' pressing down and mouse left button down, moves mouse to another different row area, the corresponding continuous rows are selected.

When row(s) is in selecting, keeps 'Shift' pressing down, pressing 'Up'/'Down' arrow key once will add the previous/next row of the last selected row into selection.

When row(s) is in selecting, keeps 'Shift' pressing down, pressing 'Page Up'/'Page Down' key once

will add rows from the last selected row to the corresponding row in the previous/next page of the last

selected row into selection.

When row(s) is in selecting, keeps 'Shift' pressing down, pressing 'Home' will add rows from the last selected row to the first row into selection.

When row(s) is in selecting, keeps 'Shift' pressing down, pressing 'End' will add rows from the last selected row to the last row into selection.

When row(s) is in selecting, and 'Ctrl' is not pressing down, any user action will cause selected row(s) deselected.

2. Select column(s) by 'Ctrl'+'Space' key

When mouse moves into any cell area of the table, as long as 'Ctrl'+'Space' are pressing down, the mouse cursor will change to column-select style. At this time, clicks mouse left button down, the column is selected.

When column(s) is in selecting, keeps 'Ctrl'+'Space' pressing down, user can select any different column(s) by the same scenario.

When column(s) is in selecting, and keeps 'Ctrl'+'Space' pressing down, clicks mouse left button down in any selecting column area, the column is deselected.
