Abstract

Disclosed is a system for integrating logs on distributed servers and systems. This system has search engine and crawler which retrieves and indexes log data and other information. System administrator can define the tag and keyword so that this system can automatically tag the various events, error and outer informational resouces, and can find the cross sectional events on the distributed system using graphical user interface.

The integrated logging system with auto tagging

Disclosed is a system for integrating logs on distributed servers and systems. This system has search engine and crawler which retrieves and indexes log data and other information. System administrator can define the tag and keyword so that this system can automatically tag the various events, error and outer informational resouces, and can find the cross sectional events on the distributed system using graphical user interface.

This system has search engine and its crawler. The crawler crawls the logs in the target systems and applications. The search engine provides the output across the system, applications and other resources for the log user requested.

Also this system has the function user can tag or add some comments for the system/application logs. Then these additional information will be shared among the users and will accelerate the problem determination and debugging operation. User can define the keyword in advance for tagging the information automatically.

Fig.1 shows the system diagram. It is supposed that the target system has the multiple node and multiple product on each node.

The crawler in the logging system crawls to correct the logs among multiple nodes, products and applications. The log data can be the text file, formatted file or the data in database. Using these logs, the system creates indexes which will be used by search engine in this system.

System administrator can find the log data for multiple nodes/products specifying the search criteria such as date, time and other keyword. These log data will be created by search engine in the logging system...
