Abstract

There are a lot of places in the virtual world and many participants have various experiences/encounters on places the participants have gone through. However, these experiences are only shared if the experiences are blogged or somebody happens to chat with others. Therefore, valuable information is lost. Another person who walks up to places would have to rediscover the experience again.

System and method to create and retreive journal entries in virtual world .

This invention describes a method to allow avatars to leave worthwhile information at different locations. An avatar would have the capability to create journal entries to leave behind for others to read at any location. These visitors could be a selected individual, a group of people or general public. The journal entry left by someone at a specific location first checks for a passerby to see if the passerby has the permission to see the entry. These journal entries can be time sensitive, so that entries are marked invalid after a certain day or time, or only valid after a certain day or time.
