Abstract

Current GPS navigation systems in cars have the option to display certain Points of Interest on the map based on user preferences. This is helpful at times but sometimes it clutters the user interface. The user has to manually turn them on and off. The solution we describe applies the contextual information to control the user interface. Disclosed is a system and method to use contextual information gathered from the vehicle and drivers to determine when to display points of interest to a car's navigational device.
