The benefits listed above can be assisted by Polysilicone-17 (and) trideceth-5 (and) Meroxapol 172 or by Polysilicone-16 (and) trideceth-5, or a combination of both. Either may act alone or in combination with other ingredients of a cosmetic formulation including, but not limited to, actives such as vitamins, moisturizers, UV absorbers or scatterers, or light reflectors or scatterers.

Description: The present invention can help improve spreadability, increase efficacy of various actives, reduce undesired tack, and enhance the sensory experience of cosmetic and personal care products. Perhaps most importantly, it can be beneficial from pH 2 to pH 11, which makes it an excellent solution to consider for a wide range of potential applications including, but not limited to, skin care products, color cosmetics, mascaras and eyeliners, as well as sun and hair care products, body washes, and even nail enamels and polishes.

With their typically superior spreading properties, Polysilicone-17 (and) trideceth-5 (and) Meroxapol 172 and Polysilicone-16 (and) trideceth-5, marketed by Momentive Performance Materials Inc. as Silsoft* Spread TT Fluid and Silsoft Spread SEL Fluid respectively, individually or as a combination, can help provide better and more uniform coverage of relevant active ingredients on the cosmetic surface of interest (e.g., skin, hair, lashes, brows, nails or lips), which allows the actives to be less agglomerated, closer to their location of action and, therefore, more efficient. The result can be better moisturization, higher sun protection factors, and better anti-aging properties for biologically active cosmetic ingredients, including natural ingredients, herbals and natural oils. In general, the nature of the cosmetic benefits from the spreading assistance of Silsoft Spread TT and SEL Fluids may vary depending upon the nature of the active that is more efficiently spread out by these fluids.

Silsoft Spread TT and Silsoft Spread SEL Fluids, individually or as a combination, can help reduce tack and enhance the sensory experience of cosmetic formulations, with emphasis on silkiness, without being oily, and can help provide better slip.
