The Double Arch Variable Product Size Returnable Package solution uses double arches stacked on top of each other with a solid piece. Disclosed is a cushioning solution which effectively protects different size and shape products in a single packaging solution, which is intuitive for a customer to pack and unpack.

     The center cushion has double arches stacked on top of each other. It also has a horizontal piece which spreads the load across the entire side of the product which aids in cushioning the product as well as containing it (see Figure 1). The arches compress in two directions, and can still be flexible enough to accommodate different sized products, while providing more protection for the product during drops. This cushion would be sandwiched between 2 other cushions to provide top and bottom protection, and placed into a container.

     The arches remain fully extended for smaller products, but bend / compress when larger products are put into the cushion cavity (see Figures 2-4). The flat side of the cushions spread the load evenly across the entire product, which enhances the protective aspect of the package. Each side of the cushions are separated, and thus move independently of one another, which helps the package accommodate different size / shaped products.
