Abstract

Motivation has become more and more important for enterprises. Motivation not only is a core part for enterprise culture building, but also an important and efficient method for exploring and developing marketing. Motivation has been widely applied for many purposes, such as enterprise forum, encouraging employees to bring forward ideas and suggestions. Many enterprises have design Reward Point program for their products to keep the customers loyalty. As we can see motivation is required in many situation, and there are also some solutions or technologies for motivation prupose in differrent application scenarios. These solutions work, but have followong problems: 1. the current approach for providing motivation services is highly manually, and case by case. Manual motivation can not response to behavior in time and automatically. It is still a case-by-case based system, which means every time for a specific purpose people should develop a motivation system from scratch. It is hard to modify motivation policy in case-by-case implementations. Long and costly integration implementation. The asset of motivation service cannot be reused. 2. No general automatic motivation systems is found due that it is hard to formalize all kinds of motivation polices in a unified way. Based on above background, we developed Digital Motivation Service, aiming to provide common technical framework for motivation systems used in different application scenarios, which is a more systematic way of initiating, managing and executing motivation programs. This invention is mainly to deal with issues for more efficiently and flexibly providing motivation services in a managed fashion by using business rules and lightweight currency system. In our invention, we use virtual currency as reward measurement, and automatically motivate and recognize valuable behaviors or contributions. Our service help motivation program owner set motivation policy flexibly and automatically execute motivation policies. Main idea of our invention: we invent a mechanism and apparatus to provide a virtual currency based, rule-based and event-driven approach to motivate contributive behaviors automatically. In this approach, the key is to base on a common framework, we can separate motivation policy from target. This invention consists of the following key features: A meta-model to describe a motivation program that can be configured to meet the specific motivation requirements and can be understood by computer to perform motivation logics on triggered by predefined events/timers. A motivation runtime framework to support motivated behavior capturing, automatic virtual currency distribution, consuming as well as circulation control. Main advantages of our invention: 1. Automatically and immediately response to contributive behaviors 2. Easy to do integration with integrated system via event sending 3. Easy to do manage, change and extend motivation policy 4. Support any complex motivation rule definition 5. Easy to do configuration for different usage scenarios 6. Virtual currency provides a unique way to measure and recognize contribution

also an important and efficient method for exploring and developing marketing

Motivation has been widely applied for many purposes, such as enterprise forum, encouraging employees to bring forward ideas and suggestions. Many enterprises have design Reward Point program for their products to keep the customers loyalty.

As we can see motivation is required in many situation, and there are also some solutions or technologies for motivation prupose in differrent application scenarios.

These solutions work, but have following problems:
1. the current approach for providing motivation services is highly manually, and case by case.

2. No general automatic motivation systems is found due that it is hard to formalize all kinds of motivation polices in a unified way .

Based on above background, we developed Digital Motivation Service, aiming to provide common technical framework for motivation systems used in different application scenarios, which is a more systematic way of initiating, managing and executing motivation programs.

2. Summary of Invention: Briefly describe the coreidea of your invention (saving the details for questions #3 below). Describe the advantage(s) of using your invention instead of the known solutionsdescribed above.
