A disclosed system captures and stores artifacts of communications during which the person has indicated to others that he is laughing . This includes, but is not limited to, communications in which the person uses laughing emoticons or in which the person uses terms such as ROTFL and LOL. Because humor is extremely individual, a person spontaneously understands for himself what he thinks is funny , therefore it is efficient to capture the person's own self-declared laughing incidents. If the person bothered to tell someone that he is ROTFL, there must have been something that he thought was funny. Obviously the artifacts will be properly individualized already to the given person. By automatically saving the humorous items, the artifacts can be made available to the person for his future reference . The saved artifacts are more likely to inspire additional laughing as compared with miscellaneous jokes sent by others , which the user might not find to be funny. Revisiting the person's own self-declared laughing incidents can cause the person to laugh again , which is beneficial to the person's health and well being. It is advantageous that the system does the work to automatically store the artifacts on behalf of the user, saving him time and effort.

A convenient location to save an artifact is to store it in the user 's calendar. For example,...
