System and Method for modular Street lighting based on car detection and route transmission

Disclosed is a System and Method for modular Street lighting based on car detection and route transmission.

Problem statement:

Street lightings are present in cities but also on more secondary roads and thus less frequented.

These street lightings are permanently enlightened for a volume of traffic very weak. Within the framework of the reduction of energy expenditure, a system allowing to light these lights only when the need is present seems interesting.

Description of the solution:

As shown on Figure 1, the car or other vehicle is detected at the entry point of the considered road.

This detection may be performed by presence detection, but also via RFID reader if the car is identified with a RFID tag. (à voir car je ne pense pas que la disclo soit publique !!)

The route of the vehicle is received and computed with :
- Speed allowed
- Traffic information,
- ...

Streets lightings are lighted according to the headway, with no portion behind the vehicle and a portion more important in front of the vehicle.

The " defined window" of lighted is computed based on speed, speed allowed, position, ...

The present invention is introducing intelligence into electrical street lighting system, to au...
