Abstract

Disclosed is an invention that associates user actions with previously mined data collected about that user's and others' physical and mental states. The previous data is used to suggest changes to current and future user actions to reduce negative effects on the user.

System for Analysis and Correlation of Health Metrics

Disclosed is an invention that associates user actions with previously mined data collected about that user's and others'

physical and mental states. The previous data is used to suggest changes

to current and future user actions to reduce negative effects on the user.

Currently there are health monitors to track biofeedback metrics during a daily routine. However, the value of the data collected is not optimized. Firstly, the raw data is presented to the owner without any recommendation or analysis which requires the user, who most likely does not have the expertise, to determine the next course of action to respond to the data

presented about their current physical or mental state. Users often rely solely on high-level

recommendations of their physical therapists, doctors or other medical advisors but need to use their own insight to make specific decisions. Secondly, the data collected is not explicitly associated with the actions that the user undertakes on a daily basis, making it difficult to determine corrective behavior. Finally, the data collected about an individual user is not unified with data collected from others which inhibits the derivation of insight on causality of certain activities to physical or mental responses of users.

The disclosed invention associates specific actions the user is undertaking with data collected about the user's physical and mental state. Technical systems such as email programs,

phone

systems, GPS(Global Positioning System) units, televisions, and others can be instrumented to record information about when a user is engaging in a specific activity. The user can even tag these activities for easy reference but the capture and collection of this information is achieved without the user's manual effort. This data is then correlated to the biofeedback information collected by the user to help the user identify their physical and mental responses to specific activities. Users may contribute the data collected about themselves to a secure, anonymous central repository of this correlated information. This central repository will enable population analysis for making recommendations for optimizing a user's well being. The main novelty of this invention is the ability to deliver a user pro-active health advice based on their own personal history as well as those of others with similar health profiles, or health conditions without the need to bound data analysis sharing based on privacy concerns. Since data is contributed by the information owner(s), is not tagged with user critical data, it becomes both useful and protected in a social setting for use by many people (users). Impact of an action correlated with the actions influence on physical or mental state can be deduced and recommendations can be made. The user can choose...
