Abstract

Hearing aid customers can not hear during the charge of the hearing aid. This can lead to the following problem: The customer is inside a room and the hearing aid is removed due to charging. Thus, the customer may not hear that someone knocks at the door or that there are noises outside the door.

Hearing aid customers can not hear during the charge of the hearing aid. This can lead to the

following problem: The customer is inside a room and the hearing aid is removed due to charging.

Thus, the customer may not hear that someone knocks at the door or that there are noises outside the

door.

Therefore, a novel solution is proposed which provides the charger of the hearing aid with a sound

detection sensor. The proposed solution is depicted in Figure 1. The proposed solution consists of a

microphone which detects the surrounding sound and a sensor which detects whether the hearing aid

is charged with the charger. The depicted Light Emission Diode (LED) lights up if the detected sound

is above a certain level and the hearing aid is charged by the charger.

With the proposed solution, the customer is notified if someone knocks at his door even if he does not

wear his hearing aid due to charging.
