In the globally distributed environment where team members are sharing a project's information in a collaborative manner as a group project, the use of email systems is widely used. Emails have been effectively exchanged in large distributed teams in email threads for discussion of different topics. Usually, there are a number of threads included on different topics. When the team sends the information to team members there may be some information not intended for all of the team members.

The disclosed system is based on a method which will move a User's inactive email thread to a different view. This will allow User to keep email threads separate for which User is not actively participating, or is not related to User or his work area. Also User can mark email threads with different tags. Like User name or User work area name or component name or any word which is related to User, so that User gets notice whenever the tag appears in the email thread that User is not active in that thread..

Example 1 - User 1 selects the "email Thread Management" option from the "Preferences" which enables moving non active email threads to "

Non Active email Thread" View.

User can also specify the duration (number of days) which automatically triggers the email thread to move to "

Non Active email Thread" View once the specified time duration is exceeded

and User has not participated in the email thread discussion (not sent a reply in the email thread). Refer to Fig.1
