Abstract

A tool for connecting wires is disclosed. The tool for connecting wires has a baseplate and a holding device that extends perpendicular from the baseplate. The holding device has means for holding a connector in the shape of a hole, in which a connector can be introduced in several positions. On two opposite sides of the baseplate are fixing means for fixing a cable and providing the possibility to remove the isolation of the cable as a "window cut". Furthermore the baseplate provides two different indication means. The first indicating means has numbers from 1 to 10 and is positioned next to the holding means. Each number refers to one possible position of the connector. The second indication means has letters along the alphabet from "a" to "e" and is positioned between the two fixing means for the cable. The letters refer to different possible cutting positions of single wires of the cable. The tool helps to cut the wires that will be connected to connectors at the right position.

A cable may be laid on a baseplate, and fixed on both sides of the baseplate as shown in Picture 1. Between these fixing points, the isolation of the cable has
