What issues/problems does your invention try to address?

There has been a lot of discussion about renewable energy. This invention tries to capture some of the energy spent by people walking and generate small amounts of electricity in a clean and green way.

Explain your invention and specifically identify the new and novel features.

At least a couple of methods can be used. One method would be to have small generators that generate electricity from the pressure applied downward from the person's weight when walking, and then generate electricity from the upward movement provided by springs. A second method would be to use a special gel/liquid or air in the mat/carpet, in an enclosed system. Careful consideration has to be given to make sure the mat/carpet does not feel soft or add considerable height. In a corner of the mat, a valve is used attached to a generator that generates electricity due to the frequent changes in pressure as people walk on the mat/carpet.
