Method and System for Managing Emails Intended for Audit Purposes

A method and system is disclosed for managing an email intended for audit purposes. The email is configured such that a reply to the email automatically includes original content of the email as non-editable content of the email.

When email communications are used for audit purposes, one or more recipients of an email are required to reply to the email with history without editing/adding anything to the original content of the email. The replies received from the recipients are saved in a database as a proof of audit. However, when instructions are not clear, many recipients may edit the original content of the email while replying or may remove the original content of the email altogether. Such instances may cause issues in getting required data for the audit purposes.

Therefore, in order to avoid such instances, the method and system disclosed herein provides a mechanism to configure an email which is meant for the audit purposes in a manner such that the original content of the email is made non-editable and a reply to the email automatically includes the original content of the email.

Fig. 1 illustrates an exemplary implementation of the method in an email client.
