System and Method to Automatically Include Management on Important Emails

In enterprise communication, it is frequently a business need to copy or include management at various levels on communication. The defacto mechanism is to identify the management chain through hardcopy or manually through whatever web-based interface might be afforded the employee. The person would be searched and then the manager would be found through additional searching. Proposed is a system to indicate that a manager or multiple management levels for an individual should be included on an email thread.

Proposed is a system to indicate that a manager or multiple managers for an individual should be included on an email thread.

Advantages
Sender does not need to manually go and look up who the appropriate individuals are to include on the message.

If the appropriate individuals change due to a reorganization, the user won't accidentally send the message to the wrong people.

Grabs the attention of the recipient that the message is important if an individual of higher power/importance is included.

The use of LDAP or similar services to properly identify individuals is well-known, this could include the proper identification of person whose names might be misspelled or who might have changed names due to marriage. Therefore, less errors in sending.

Implementation
A user drafts an email message to be sent to one or more recipients.
