    [R-(R*,R*)]-2-(4-fluorophenyl)-β,δ-dihydroxy-5-(1-methylethyl)-3 phenyl-4- [(phenylamino)carbonyl]-lH-pyrrole-l-heptanoic acid, in its calcium salt (ATV Ca) was obtained by crystallization form IPA.

    The obtained material was analyzed by X-Ray Powder diffraction. The analysis was performed on Scintag X-Ray powder diffractometer model X'TRA, Cu-tube, solid- state detector. The cathode is CuKa radiation, λ = 1.5418 Å. Scanning parameters: Range: 2-40 deg. 2 theta, Scan mode: Continuous scan, Step size: 0.05deg. Rate: 3 deg./min. The accuracy of peak positions is defined as +/- 0.2 degrees due to experimental differences like instrumentations, and sample preparations.

Pattern 1 presents the XRD pattern of the crystalline Form obtained.

Pattern #1:

Main XRD peaks for the pattern 1 are 3.8, 5.1, 5.4, 7.2, 8.2, 8.8, 10.1, 11.2, 12.6, 15.0,
16.4, 19.2 (broad), 20.3, 21.5 ± 0.2 degrees two theta.

The obtained material was further analyzed by TGA. The analysis was performed using Mettler 3M with Mettler TG 50 thermobalance. Scanning parameters: Heating between 25 -250 ºC, heating rate: 10 ºC/min, purging with 40 ml/min N2 flow, sample weight: 11 mg, one hole on the crucibles.
