Disclosed is a method and system for providing customized offers to passengers when they are rerouted in-flight due to weather, air traffic or other unexpected events. The customized offers may include hotel reservations, transportation reservations, meal services and entertainment services.

Fig. 1 illustrates an overview of the system for providing customized offers to the passengers.

As illustrated in the fig. 1, the system includes a passenger profiles database, an itinerary history database and an offers database.

The passenger profiles database includes, passengers' profiles which are created by the passengers. A passenger profile may include preferences and relevant information a passenger wants to share with service providers. The relevant Information may include, but is not limited to, food preferences, medical conditions, allergies, transportation preferences, age and hotel preferences.

Further, the itinerary database is created/maintained by an airline and/or travel agents. The itinerary database includes information related to passengers' past trips. For example, date of travel, locations, trip duration, number of stops, and class of ticket.

Additionally, the itinerary database also includes information about rerouting events associated with the passengers.
