In an ongoing email conversation or email thread, and as the topics mutate and grow, the number of new participants increases by being added to the distribution. In this scenario, attachments are often removed.

New participants often do not receive the attachments which were an integral

Usually a participant forwards the missing attachment to the newcomers some of whom unintentionally start a new thread which defeats the purpose of keeping everyone in one thread. Some times the wrong attachment gets forwarded which adds confusion.

At best, the average time to locate and re-attach an attachment, is approximately 15 seconds. If this is multiplied by the millions of times users are faced with this requirement, there is definitely a cost savings to consider. It is also an investment in quality.

At present, the only known solutions are to always include the attachment, thus unnecessarily utilizing storage capacity or trust ones memory.
