GMT is the general time zone for cloud computing resource. Many time exhausted operations including root access are required in order to change the timezone. This disclosure proposes a method to initilize the time zone via original request IP address to improve the end user experience and efficiency.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Technical Field


The present invention relates generally to the field of cloud computing, and more particularly to provide a method and program for establishing flexible time zone configuration.
2. Description of Related Art


Cloud computing is Internet-based computing,

other devices on-demand, like the electricity grid. The systems architecture of the software systems involved in the delivery of cloud computing, typically involves multiple cloud components communicating with each other over application programming interfaces, usually web services. Cloud is an emerging style of Information Technology infrastructure designed for rapid delivery of computing resources. Business or consumer services are delivered in a simplified manner, providing unbounded scale, differentiated quality, and with a user focus designed to foster rapid innovation and efficient decision making .

By default, the time zone will be GMT for cloud computing resources. If the cloud customer want to change the timezone, he will need to enable root access and run many steps include reboot the cloud computing resources . It will take a lot of time.

The present invention addresses the above and other issues by providing a method and program for establishing flexible time zone configuration in the field of cloud computing. It can save time and money for the cloud customer through automatically set up the time zone for cloud computing resources.

In one embodiment, IP address inforamtion can be gotten from different clients which interact with cloud server . This can be achieved, e.g., by monitoring components which execute at the cloud server and monitoring requests which are received by the cloud server and responses which are sent by the cloud server. One IP Information Database is provided to a mapping of IP addresses to geographic location. So we can get the country and region of the cloud customer from IP address.

And One

Timezone database is provided to a mapping of world countries and region to time zone and daylight saving time (DST). So the time zone of cloud computing resources can be automatic distributed with time zone based on the country and region of the cloud customer.

In short, according to the network address data and the information, the cloud server identify the respective time zones and distribute cloud computing resources with proper time zone.
