Abstract

Disclosed is method and system for scanning a barcode using a barcode scanner integrated in a monitor screen. The method involves illuminating the barcode when the barcode scanner integrated in the monitor screen is ready to scan the barcode. The barcode is illuminated using light from the monitor screen.

Disclosed is method and system for scanning a barcode using a barcode scanner integrated in a monitor screen. The method involves illuminating the barcode when the barcode scanner integrated in the monitor screen is ready to scan the barcode. In order to illuminate the barcode, the method utilizes light from the monitor screen as shown in fig. 1

As shown in fig.1, an optical proximity detector is integrated with the monitor screen. The optical proximity detector is placed near scanner lens of the barcode scanner. Therefore, once an item is placed closed to the barcode scanner, the system turns all dots for a display region on the monitor screen for illuminating the barcode as shown in fig. 2.

In an embodiment, an area of a display region may be varied based on distance of an item from the barcode scanner.

The method and system disclosed herein provides illumination of a barcode for a
