N

otifications are sent to the on-line store pricing unit where price buffer adjustment to products is made dynamically to meet the budget requirement of the shopper. Embodiments of the disclosed process provide an automated system in which shoppers can easily manage spending within a predefined budget.

In tough economic times, shoppers are more cautious with spending and are more constrained by respective budgets. In virtual on-line shopping, a wish list is available for a shopper to add one or more products from a particular on-line store. A purchaser can use the wish list to purchase items at a later time. The account of the sender is charged automatically when the receiver selects a gift. A universal gift list, while serving the same purpose as the gift list, has more advanced features in which a giver can add products from any on-line store.

Using the previous list examples, the typical current process begins when a shopper selects the

A high level view of the disclosed process for shoppers is depicted in Figure 1. Using the example of a wish list or universal wish list a female shopper has a total budget of $ in mind for

Shopper wants to purchase a few items, for example, a new top, a pair of shoes and a pair of earrings. Furthermore, the shopper can optionally specify a maximum budget for each product item.
