Method and System for Assisting a User to Schedule Tasks

Disclosed is a method and system for assisting a user to schedule tasks based on availability of resources.

A resource may be concurrently accessed by an application executed by multiple users. Such concurrent accesses cause contention for the resource. For an optimal and fair utilization of a resource such contentions are generally avoided. In order to further improve the resource utilization, the method and system disclosed herein, assists a user to schedule a task so as to minimize contention for a resource. All the accesses made to the resource are tracked and monitored on a daily basis. Thereafter, a daily usage pattern is determined to estimate a time interval in a day when accesses to the resource are minimal. This information is provided to the user for scheduling tasks when contention for the resource is minimal.

Further, the method and system disclosed herein also assists a user to reschedule a task in case it is determined that contention for a resource is considerable at a time for when the task has been scheduled.

The method and system disclosed herein assists a user to schedule tasks and ensures that contention over a resource is minimal.
