Laptop Safety Strap

People are seen carrying laptops around all of the time. If they are dropped and fall on the floor, they will most likely result in expensive repairs and delays in use of this important tool for everyday work. This disclosure describes a few devices to prevent a dropped laptop from being damaged.

The following are inventions for devices that use the existing security connection of laptops and similar devices as a safety strap.

1. A safety strap that connects to the existing security connection on a device and connects to the body of the person carrying the laptop so that if the laptop is accidentally dropped, it will be stopped before falling on a hard surface

2. A safety strap as in description 1 that has a loop that may be placed around the neck to catch the weight of the falling device

3. A safety strap as in description 1 that has a loop that may be placed around the wrist or arm to catch the weight of a falling device

4. A safety strap as in claims above, but instead of a connector that uses the existing security connection, uses a strap around the device (most likely the hinge area) to secure it to the device

5. A safety strap as in claims above, with the addition of an elastic and/or spring that would cushion the falling weight in the case of a falling device.
