Abstract

A leather portfolio can be designed to fit different work styles of today’s professional. Different types and colors of leather can be used to construct the leather portfolio. The leather portfolio can have multiple pockets. The pockets can be used to hold writing pads,business cards, and loose paper. Some of the pockets can be closed using a zipper assembly that secures loose contents in the pockets. The leather portfolio can also include a pocket to hold a clock, calculator, personal digital assistant (PDA), or mobile phone. Furthermore, the leather portfolio can include one or more pen sleeves attached to the inside or the outside of the leather portfolio. Each pen sleeve can be made from a flexible material and can hold different types and sizes of writing instruments, e.g., pens, pencils, and highlighters. The leather portfolio can also have a zipper assembly along the border of the portfolio that can be used to secure the contents inside the leather portfolio.

As an example, having flexible pen sleeves attached to the inside or the outside of the leather portfolio provides easy access to different types of writing instruments when the portfolio is open or closed. In situations where a professional is "on-the-go", it may not be convenient for the professional to open or close the portfolio to obtain a writing instrument. As another example, pockets that can hold small electronic

devices provide the professional with a place to store and access the small electronic devices while on-the-go. The multipurpose leather portfolio can emulate a mobile workplace.

    One of the many different types of small electronic devices, that can be stored in a pocket of the multipurpose leather portfolio, is a calculator. The calculator can be a conventional calculator or an enhanced calculator. An enhanced calculator includes features

for inputting, storing, editing, and viewing a mathematical expression or equation. The features are analogous to features of a text editor or word processor that are used to input, store, edit, and view text.
