Abstract

Many a times, in Testing scenarios, we are required to launch the same application ( eg: Rose RealTime) from different systems with different Operating systems viz: Solaris 7,8 etc , RH Linux 7,8,9 etc. So, there is a possibility that we end up with 4 or 5 terminal windows and equal number of application windows.

This text was extracted from a PDF file.
At least one non-text object (such as an image or picture) has been suppressed.
This is the abbreviated version, containing approximately 100% of the total text.

Associative highlighting of Applications on clicking the terminal session window on taskbar.

The idea would be, as soon as you click on a terminal window, the application window which got launched from the terminal gets highlighted (could be a blink on the task bar)

For this to implement, there should be an association relation between the hostname and terminal session program i.e: the terminal should be intelligent enough to identify the application window that was launched from the terminal.

The x-term or any other terminal application should be able to identify using the DISPLAY variable and the pid of the application launched and send a signal to highlight the Application.
