As illustrated in Fig. 1, an e-mail message consisting of BO1, BO2 and BO3 is stored on

an e-mail server. The e-mail message is split into multiple MOs. Each MO contains a

corresponding BO as its content and a unique Message Object Identifier (MO-ID) in its

message header. The unique MO-ID for each MO is generated from message

_id of the

e-mail message. The MOs created are then stored in an InProgress Folder of a file

system.

Fig. 2 illustrates a method for splitting an e-mail message into multiple MOs. As shown

in the figure, an e-mail message is read on the e-mail server. Thereafter, it is

determined whether splitting of the e-mail message is enabled or disabled.
