Abstract

A method and system for optimization of power consumption required by a directed cooling system in a data center is disclosed. The data center is provided with a high pressure cold air from the cooling system. The high pressure cold air reaches directly to a Heat Sink (HS) of a computer system in the data center to optimize the power required by the cooling system.

Disclosed is a method and system for optimization of power consumption required by a directed cooling system in a data center.

Current cooling systems provide cooling to one or more computer systems in a data center by cooling the entire data center. So in order to provide optimum cooling to the entire data center, the cooling system's capacity needs to be proportional to the dimension of the data center irrespective of the number of computer systems present in the data center. However, such cooling systems require more consumption of power.

The disclosed method and system employs a direct cooling mechanism as illustrated in the Figure for optimization of power consumption.

As illustrated in the figure, the data center includes one or more computer systems such as Sys1, Sys2, Sys3 and Sys4. Each of the one or more computer systems includes a HS. Further, each of the one or more computer systems is insulated with an insulating
