Abstract

Welding has several drawbacks such as complicate manufacture process, limitation of material selection due to weldability, etc. This invention adapts a new way to attach screen jacket/catridge to base pipe instead of the conventional welding. As showed in Figure #2, a shoulder is provided at one end of base pipe, and thread connection is cut at the other end. Once screen jacket/catridge is ready, it can simply slided over the OD of base pipe all the way to touch the shoulder. At the other end, a coupling with box thread will help keep the jacket/catridge in place. This new way is simpler and cheaper than the conventional welding, thus effectively manufactures sand creen much faster
